A late 19th century William De Morgan Arts & Crafts tile. It features blue flowers with green scrolling leaves and a small flower head in the top righ corner. The pattern seems to be a slight variant of the carnation pattern with the petals spread a little father apart, the colours though are the same. The reverse is partially encrusted with cement however a partial De Morgan mark can be seen just peeping out below the cement.
Obvious chip to top right as seen in the images. Some glaze loss to the lower edge and slight glaze losses to the left and right. Aged crazing which is quite visible. The ground shows signs of the ceramic showing through the white in places leading to a slight reddening, this of course is from production. Cement encrustations and some edge chips to the reverse - see images.
