A mid 20th century Sterling silver and marcasite brooch set with light blue stones. It is in the form of a leaf sprig with the cabachon cut stones forming the flowers. It has a pin to the reverse with a rotating safety catch. It is somewhat in the Edwardian style, but is later in date being hallmarked for Birmingham 1965 with a makers mark S&Co, probably for Sydney & Co of Birmingham. A very pretty item and of course fine to wear today.
The larger stone nearer the stem end has a slight flake chip, and one marcasite gem missing - visible in the images as it is magnified by about 5 times.
