A late 19th century or early 20th century silver plated repousse jewellery box. It was made by the Wilcox Silver Plate Company of Connecticut, USA and has their impressed mark to the underside. The box itself has acanthus style scroll detail and floral heads around the lower part and is plain above. The interior is fitted with a top tray which can be lifted out with a plain section below and ruched fabric to the inside of the lid. The front of the lid has an etched name, but the script makes it very difficult to read. There is a working lock with key. A very pretty item.
Normal wear and aging with some rubbing but generally decent for period. Fabric to interior aged and with wear. Lock a little sticky but does function.
