An early 20th century German Secessionist style wine jug. It is of takk form tapering at the base with ribbing near the bottom. The handle has moulded styling and there is further decorative forms to the lid and the top of the jug. The finial is elongated with a central band and ribbing. The handle, knop and pouring spout are either polished pewter or silver plated and the main body and lid are in brass. The interior is plated suggesting this item was intended for use and not just for decorative purposes. It is in the style of WMF but is probably from a different factory, there are no makers marks just some indistinct numerals.
Normal wear and aging, some dents and knocks, most noticeably to the lid.
